01) Be an active observer during the field trip: ask questions, try to make connections with Sonnenalle, constantly ask yourself what kind of ideas can I bring to the table in the afternoon... think about the similarities and differences between the two contexts. Note the places you feel like you are in Sonnenalle... try to make connections with your expertise/field (children, educational science, concepts in urban studies/social sciences)
02) Your main working groups will probably be totally different from the field trip pairing, which would be adjusted according to multiple variables such as knowing Arabic, mapping skills, video skills, being a Berliner/Istanbulite, discipline/background and gender.
03) Tomorrow (Wednesday) we will talk about Perec and his methodology to analyze and represent human behaviour (I forgot to mention today). If you have time just have a look at the book... it is enough to read a few paragraphs randomly... It is an example of using words to represent space and human behaviour and might be especially useful for those who have no experience on mapping or video making. Here is the link: Georges Perec, An Attempt at Exhausting a Place
04) Do not forget that you are in Istanbul. It takes time to go from one place to another, so make your adjustments to be at Pepuk Kafe at 14:15
05) and about documentation of our work on the blog: Max is responsible for Tuesday's post... Vera is responsible for Wednesday's post. We need volunteers for Thursday and Friday and Saturday and Sunday and Monday...
